Having commenced operations in 2006, Aquinox Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a privately-held pharmaceutical company developing targeted small molecule therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory disease. We are currently seeking a Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for general analytical method development, including HPLC, LC-MS, GC and related methodologies.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Design and execute scientific experiments with minimal supervision.
- Develop and validate analytical methods to support drug discovery.
- Perform in vitro ADME assays as requested, including metabolic stability, protein binding and CYP inhibition.
- Sample preparation for routine LC-MS/MS analysis.
- Maintain R&D laboratory notebook according to established guidelines.
- Data reduction and presentation.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
- B.Sc. in Chemistry or related field with 5-10 years of experience or relevant Masters degree with 3-5 years experience.
- Knowledge of modern analytical techniques including GC, HPLC and MS.
- Strong computer skills, with a background in Chemstation.
- Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is essential.
