Biotech investors continue to look to Vancouver, B.C. to find new opportunities

June 12, 2007 - Biotech investors continue to look to Vancouver, B.C. to find new opportunities. The latest is Aquinox Pharmaceuticals, which today announced $14.5 million in a first round of funding from Ventures West Capital, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Baker Brothers Investments and others. The three-year-old company, a spin-off from the University of British Columbia and BC cancer Agency, plans to introduce its first drugs for cancer and inflammatory diseases next year.
